ANDREA MARINO

Andrea is an established entertainer and instructor. She stepped into her first pair of ballet slippers at the age of two, continued to train intensively in all styles of dance, then became an original member of The Source Dance Company in 2000. Her early love for musical theatre sparked an interest in singing. She started vocal lessons at age ten and booked her first role as Nancy in Bye Bye Birdie at Theatre Under the Stars shortly thereafter. Andrea also trained extensively in film and television acting with acclaimed coaches in Vancouver and New York. Select credits include stage productions Tony ‘n Tina’s Wedding, West Side Story and The Candy Girl Cabaret; music videos for Hedley and Shania Twain; television series Masters of Horror and Life As We Know It; commercials for Burger King and Verizon Wireless; MTV’s movie Monster Island starring Carmen Electra.

Andrea’s bright career flew her around the world to places including Malaysia, China and numerous U.S. cities. Selected from hundreds of dancers, she performed alongside Canadian recording artist Avril Lavigne at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Torino, Italy. Andrea’s next adventure began in Los Angeles where she auditioned for the world-renowned theme park Universal Studios Japan. Being the only auditionee to book the gig, Andrea relocated to Osaka, Japan where she spent three years as a lead in the Universal Monsters Live Rock and Roll Show.

Andrea has worked behind the scenes as well. She was the assistant to one of Vancouver’s leading casting directors and worked as a talent agent to many local rising performers. Currently, Andrea is one of two female vocalists in the show titled ‘Sway – A Tribute to Michael Buble’. This show has been touring throughout the U.S. for the past 3 years, performing at some of the top American casinos. Andrea also teaches at Vancouver’s prestigious drop-in studio, Harbour Dance Centre. She runs the vocal program, which includes Broadway & Pop group classes and is the vocal coach for Harbour Dance Centre’s training company, ITP. Andrea loves sharing her passion for the arts with children and aspiring entertainers.
